To forgive is to be forgiven

Your sacrifice of self
is not unnoticed.
It is good for you
And glory unto God.
I sighed, wept and wailed
Prostrate,
He lifted my head onto His lap
And stroked my hair.
He looked into my eyes
Compassion, sorrow and love
I broke before my King
Laid vulnerable, unwhole dove.
He wiped away my tears
And once I had let go,
Told me, peace attached,
"It is well with your soul."
He had taken out of me
my spirit, golden glow,
I saw the canyon wide
a crevice in my soul,
Gaping, ugly wound
No fixing on my own,
He placed a hand within
And restored my soul.
Nature, health and soil
filled the canyon whole.
Restoration sweet
He healed my very soul.
